These are surreal times… we’re all stuck indoors, self-isolating, and keeping our distance from people when we are outside. The media is flooded with coverage of the coronavirus, for better, but most often worse. An unprecedented situation, filled with tragedy, fuelling paranoia and xenophobia…
While this is all going on, the politicians are happily fast-tracking new laws to remove our civil liberties in the name of public health. A perfectly convenient opportunity to take control in ways they’ve always dreamt of! They don’t even have to hide it or make any excuses. This is all happening right in front of our eyes as we speak!
When this whole pandemic blows over, will we really return to ‘normality’? Or will we find that these laws will be anchored in place?
